Installing a home EV charger?

A Level 2 charger (240V) charges much faster than a regular outlet, but it needs a dedicated circuit and enough capacity in your panel.

Safety first: EV charger circuits carry a lot of current for hours at a time. Have a licensed electrician install it; a permit is usually required.

What is involved

Condos and HOAs

In a condo or HOA community, check the association rules first. Florida law gives condo owners a right to install an EV charger at their own expense, subject to reasonable association requirements. Ask your association what they need.
